About this role
DBC Training are looking for Teaching Assistants across Derby, Nottingham and Chesterfield to support learners that are on DBC courses.

What is needed for this role?
Role and responsibilities
- Assisting Tutors with administrative activities such as taking class attendance, scanning in work and updating claims
- To promote positive behaviour amongst students
- Assist Tutors with delivery of classroom learning
- Support learners in a 1 to 1 or group setting
- Working with Tutors to recognise students with difficulties and recommend solutions
- Work with learners and support within the classroom and on remote delivery
- Help teachers prepare lesson materials
- Set up and tidy classrooms for lessons and activities
- Deliver group enrichment sessions
- To provide confidential and impartial information, advice and guidance on employment and learning opportunities
- Enrol learners for any required external exams
- Invigilate learners’ exams/tests
- Maintain awarding bodies records
- Ensure learners have access to up to date job vacancies
- Intensive support for learners with all job search activity
- Job match learners to suitable vacancies and placements and liaise with Employer Engagement Team/Job Brokers
- Track learner’s destination and progression outcomes following provision
- Ensure success stories are prepared, circulated and displayed
- Maintain own CPD logs
- To take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all learners with whom you come into contact with.
Skills and experience
- Level 2 or Equivalent English and Maths qualifications
- Teaching Assistance qualifications or willing to work towards
- A good understanding of the Adult Learning sector
- Strong interest in helping others and organising activities
- Compassionate, empathetic and caring attitudes towards others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of classroom activities and teaching practices
- Ability to build relationships with learners, tutors and colleagues
- Excellent analysis, decision making and time management skills
- A strong understanding of Safeguarding and Prevent
- Be over the age of 18
- Be able to travel across sites and cover where needed
