About this role

You will be responsible for identifying and developing strategic business relationships with predominantly small, medium and large levy organisations, selling our portfolio of 16 apprenticeship programmes, to support our long term growth. In this key position you will work closely with the rest of the Business Development Team, Recruiters and Enrolment Officers as well as our marketing and operations/delivery teams.

Role and responsibilities
  • Develop new business apprenticeship opportunities with Levy employers
  • Maintain a robust pipeline to continuously achieve business growth
  • Actively contribute to business planning and performance monitoring to support delivery through effective account managing
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of DBC training’s sales strategy
  • Develop expertise in key employers, sectors and opportunities using these to drive innovation and growth
  • Identification of key employers, or employer groups, and lead on ensuring targeting of employers in partnership with marketing
  • Provide timely updates and reports as required
  • Undertake necessary training to professionally develop and keep abreast with current practices and legislation within the sector, particularly those which may impact on compliance.
  • Maintain effective relationships with all internal colleagues to ensure services are delivered to an excellent standard that will maximise opportunities to provide added value programmes and services
  • Demonstration up to date understanding of all contracts, content and eligibility
  • Keep up to date with Government, LEP and sector developments and priorities
  • Ensure all Information, Advice and Guidance delivered to employers and learners is robust and informative, and ensure that only the right learners and employers are enrolled on to the right apprenticeships.
Skills and experience
  • Come from a background within apprenticeship / skills business developmen
  • 2 years’ experience engaging with levy organisations, expert in DAS accounts
  • Proven track record in lead generation and sales closing
  • Used to working towards and hitting team and individual targets
  • Ability to build strong working relationships (internal/external)
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Ability to persuade, influence and negotiate effectively at all levels within and outside the organisation
  • Knowledge of local labour markets and population/demographics
  • Knowledge of the FE sector, Apprenticeship standards and funded programmes
