About this role

The role of the Onboarding Officer is to complete the enrolment and onboarding of identified learners on to suitable apprenticeship and other funded provisions, ensuring that both the learner and the employer fully understand the benefits and commitment of the apprenticeship/funded provision. You will be responsible for ensuring all points of the enrolment and onboarding process runs smoothly and in a timely, compliant manner.

Role and responsibilities
  • Complete pre-enrolment tasks including Initial Assessments, quality assurance call & booking in of enrolments with the learner and employer.
  • Responsible for the timely and effective enrolment of learners on to relevant apprenticeship/funded programmes which includes a skills scan exercise. These will take place remotely or at the employer’s premises.
  • Reiterate comprehensive Information, Advice and Guidance to all parties, ensuring that they fully understand the commitment required to complete the apprenticeship/funded programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with candidate eligibility for programme in line with funding and apprenticeship guidelines.
  • Be responsible for establishing excellent relationships with both the Learner and Employer to ensure excellent customer service is delivered, thereby securing repeat business.
  • Carry out on site enrolments of 16-18 Year olds, completing a Young Person’s Risk Assessment and ensuring that the employer has the appropriate provisions in place to support the safe working of the learners.
  • Work with the Business Development Team to enrol cohorts at employer premises.
  • Ensure the full embedding of all Equal Opportunities policies, British Values and Health & Safety requirements (including Safeguarding) are complied with.
  • Full completion of all enrolment documents, internal audits & ensuring that there are minimal errors, before uploading to the Claims department.
  • Attend and participate in team and company meetings as required.
  • Additional duties appropriate to the post as directed by the Onboarding & Compliance Manager.
  • Understand and comply with your duty for the safeguarding and the promotion of the welfare of all learners with whom you come into contact.
  • Adhering to the company’s safeguarding policies and reporting procedures at all times, including the timely completion of all safeguarding related training relevant to your role.
Skills and experience
  • Ideally come from a training or work-based learning background
  • IAG qualification (desirable)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work without supervision
  • Able to deliver work at a high standardwith a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to establish a rapport and work with clients from a range of backgrounds
  • Assertiveness and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Listening and questioning skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team, but also to work independently, using your initiative
  • Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
  • The ability to meet targets and deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills that include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Hold a full driving licence with access to a carand have the ability to travel for business use
